3 Injured in SUV, Box Truck Crash in Georgetown

The driver of the box truck was taken to Tufts Medical Center in Boston via a medical helicopter

Massachusetts State Police are investigating a serious crash that resulted in the injuries of three people Friday morning in Georgetown.

Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash involving a box truck and a Ford SUV at about 10 a.m. on Route 133 at Interstate 95.

The driver of the box truck, only identified as a 22-year-old Gloucester man, was taken by medical helicopter to Tufts Medical Center in Boston for his serious injuries. His current condition is unclear.

The driver of the SUV, a 79-year-old woman, and her passenger, an 83-year-old man, both from Georgetown, were taken to Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport for treatment of injuries that ranged from minor to serious. Their current conditions are also unclear.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation by state police.

No charges have been filed at this time.
