20+ Great Ways to Celebrate Spring in and Around Boston This Weekend

Spring is officially here with the reopening and launch of some amazing outdoor events happening throughout Greater Boston. The Lawn on D is kicking off the season with some TGIF fun, a Swing into Spring Event and some Cinco de Mayo fun. And they’re not alone. The Rose Kennedy Greenway this weekend plays host to a spring food truck festival and open markets are open at both the Greenway and SoWa Boston. Plus there’s a whole lot more happening. Friday, May 3 

TGIF at The Lawn on D

Come play in and enjoy great food, drinks and lawn games at The Lawn on D opens for the season today. 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., The Lawn on D, 420 D St., Boston.

The Big Apple Circus

The Circus is in town all through School Vacation Week. Catch the Big Apple Circus with performances all week long at the North Shore Mall in Peabody. Tickets start at $35. Performances at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. North Shore Mall, 210 Andover St., Peabody. 

ICA First Friday: Spring Fling

Head on over to the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston’s First Friday event. Tonight dance away those winter blues and celebrate the start of spring with rosé wine spritzers, DJ Knife, flower crafts, ocean views, contemporary art and an insta-worthy floral installation by Maia Mattson. SoWa First Fridays

Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse

Combining music, technology and comedy, Blue Man Group creates a form of entertainment that can’t be defined, but appeals to people of all ages. Astronomy After Hours

Enjoy a free night full of astronomy themed fun. Sci-Fi Food Weekend 2019

Head to the Boston Museum of Science this weekend for Sci-Fi Food Weekend This year’s theme is Grow Your Food IQ Weekend where you can discover connections between food and science, eet authors and experts in nutrition, food science and more. Greenway Spring Food Truck Festival

The Greenway Open Market opens for another season featuring area artists, crafters and independent designers. Cinco de Mayo Bar Crawl
