It’s officially March and with the new month comes some great weekend events. From the National Golf Expo to a special winter event at The Lawn on D to a viewing of Oscar nominated short films and more, we’ve gathered our picks for a weekend of fun. Check them out:

Friday, March 1

Ice Skating on Frog Pond

Enjoy ice skating today on Frog Pond right in the heart of the Boston Common. Lockers, skate sharpening and skating aids are also available. Admission is based on skater’s height: 58 inches and over is $6, under 58 inches if free. 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Boston Common.

The National Golf Expo

The National Golf Expo comes to Boston this weekend. Enjoy golf-related exhibits, displays and interactive features, as well as the Northeast’s largest driving range and demonstration stage. Tickets are $10-$12. Noon to 7 p.m., Seaport World Trade Center, 200 Seaport Boulevard, Boston. 

Harpoon Brewery Tours

Guided tours take place daily at Harpoon Brewery, giving visitors an up close and personal view of the brewing process. As part of the tour, visitors 21 and over will enjoy a range of freshly-brewed Harpoon and UFO beers. Tours last approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 and only available the day of the tour and can only be purchased in person. Noon to 6 p.m., Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Ave., Boston. 

Special Winter Event! Chillin' On D

Head to the Lawn on D for their special winter pop-up event “Chillin’ On D” and enjoy everything you love about summer but with a winter twist. Enjoy cocktails, food trucks and hot beverages, along with live ice carving, ice cornhole, giant inflatable snow globe and more. Plus at 6 p.m. enjoy live music with Hit Play. 4-10 p.m., The Lawn on D, 420 D St., Boston.

First Fridays: Pajama Party

Head on over to the Institute of Contemporary Art Boston’s First Friday event. Tonight it’s a pajama party - so be sure to don your PJs for a night of throwback music and slumber party fun. Enjoy music, dancing, contemporary art and harbor views. Free for members, $15 for non-members, 5-9 p.m., Institute of Contemporary Art, 25 Harbor Shore Drive, Boston.

Museum of Fine Arts First Fridays 

Join the folks at the Museum of Fine Arts tonight and kick off the weekend with fine art, music, signature cocktails, tapas and more. Tickets are $25, seniors and students are $23 and free for members. 6-9:30 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave., Boston.

Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse

Combining music, technology and comedy, Blue Man Group creates a form of entertainment that can’t be defined, but appeals to people of all ages. Described as “innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining,” the best way to truly understand what Blue Man Group is, is to see the show yourself. Tickets start at $66. 7:30 p.m., Charles Playhouse, 74 Warrenton St., Boston.

Kids in the Kitchen: Pasta Making

Children ages 6-12 can explore and taste the food of the season at Boston Public Markets Kids in the Kitchen series. Today Chef Jen M. will teach you how to hand roll pasta from scratch and make a brown butter sauce with seasonal veggies. 10 a.m., Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St., Boston.
