Join the Boston Public Health Commission, Boston Parks and Recreation Dept. and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts as they kick off the summer of 30 free outdoor fitness classes each week in and around the city. These free classes take place throughout Boston’s 18 neighborhoods and two dozen parks all summer long. Today try zumba at 6 p.m. at Christopher Columbus Park in the North End, salsa dancing at 6 p.,m. At Blackstone Square in the South End, Carnival Fit at 6 p.m. at Harambee Park in Dorchester, Afrobeat Bootcamp at 6 p.,m. At Malcolm X Park in Roxbury or Yoga at 6:30 p.m. at Mother’s Rest at 4 Corners in Dorchester.

Dragonflies in the Park

Head to Halibut Point State Park this morning to find out more about those prehistoric looking flying dragons around the ponds. Come explore the world of odonata, one of the oldest life forms on earth for this family-friendly event. 9-10 a.m., Halibut Point State Park, 16 Gott Ave., Rockport.

Destination Dino at the Franklin Park Zoo

It’s a prehistoric journey through time at the Franklin Park Zoo’s Destination Dino experience. Come face to face with these amazing creatures of the past, dig for fossils and more. Ride the Boston Common Frog Pond Carousel

The seasonal farmers market at Dewey Square returns. Today kick off the season on the plaza outside South Station. is back! Kick off the season with us on the plaza outside South Station. Kids Nature Creations on the Beach

Join a Mass. Department of Conservation and Recreation interpreter for a fun arts and crafts program for children ages 5-12 at Waldon Pond. The activity features themes related to Waldon Pond and the natural world. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Meet at the tables set up by the bicycle racks on the patio above Main Beach. The Boston Public Market at Seaport returns for another season now through October. This early childhood education program has a wide range of hands-on activities, offering children ages 3-10 an introduction to wild species and habitat at Mount Greylock.
