25+ Great Events Happening This Weekend in and Around Boston

Halloween is behind us and the holiday season is about to begin. For now, enjoy what’s left of the fall and have some seasonal fun. From the 32nd Annual Boston Christmas Festival to the 2018 Massachusetts Cheese Festival, a free screening of “Christopher Robin” at the Museum of Fine Arts and a whole lot more, we gathered some great things to do all weekend long!

Friday, Nov. 2 

32nd Annual Boston Christmas Festival

Get a jump on your holiday shopping with the annual Boston Christmas Festival featuring 350 pop-up boutiques by American Artisans. While you’re there sample and buy from the huge selection in the Farmers Market and check out gingerbread masterpieces by top chefs. Tickets are $14 (children under 14 are free). Noon to 7 p.m., Seaport World Trade Center, Boston.

Harpoon Brewery Tours

Guided tours take place daily at Harpoon Brewery, giving visitors an up close and personal view of the brewing process. As part of the tour, visitors 21 and over will enjoy a range of freshly-brewed Harpoon and UFO beers. Tours last approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 and only available the day of the tour and can only be purchased in person. Noon to 6 p.m., Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Ave., Boston.

SoWa First Fridays

Meet artists, view exhibits and shop as more than 200 artists, galleries, shops and showrooms open their doors to the public tonight for an evening of art, culture and inspiration. 5-9 p.m., 450-460 Harrison Ave., Boston.

Jack O’Lantern Journey

Celebrate the season among thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns creatively displayed in themed scenes throughout the Franklin Park Zoo at this holiday event you don’t want to miss. While you’re there enjoy pumpkin carving demonstrations and more interactive experiences. 5:45-9:30 p.m. Franklin Park Zoo, 1 Franklin Park Road, Boston. 

Museum of Fine Arts First Fridays

Join the folks at the Museum of Fine Arts tonight and kick off the weekend with fine art, music, signature cocktails, tapas and more. Tickets are $25, seniors and students are $23 and free for members. 6-9:30 p.m., Museum of Fine Arts, 465 Huntington Ave., Boston. 

Haunted Boston Ghost Tours

This 90-minute walking tour takes you through the historic and haunted streets of Boston by lantern light where you’ll hear all the tales of Boston’s most famous ghosts who are rumored to haunt the city. 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors over 62 and $13 for children under $16.

Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse

Combining music, technology and comedy, Blue Man Group creates a form of entertainment that can’t be defined, but appeals to people of all ages. Described as “innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining,” the best way to truly understand what Blue Man Group is, is to see the show yourself. Tickets start at $49.
