Two people were killed and three others were injured in three unrelated shootings in Boston on Thursday.

Boston police said the first shooting occurred around 1:45 p.m. on Whittier Street in Roxbury. Officers heard the sound of gunfire while patrolling on foot and responded.

Aerial footage showed at least a half dozen police vehicles and police tape cordoning off the Burger King parking lot in Dorchester.

They found a male victim in his early 20s with gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Police said the shooting was not random.

Aerial footage from NBC10 Boston's Sky Ranger showed crime scene tape up outside what appeared to be a housing complex with several police vehicles at the scene.
