An arctic front reinforces our cold air and that means our highs will only be in the mid-20s Wednesday. With the west, northwest wind, wind chills will be in the single-digits even as we hit our high temps for the day.
A cool pool of air aloft will keep snow squalls and flurries in on Wednesday afternoon. Light and quick accumulations are expected with these squalls, but they will be very hit or miss and most of the day will be dry across New England.
More cold is expected for Thursday with highs again in the mid-to-upper 20s. Milder temperatures return Friday with highs in the low to mid-30s. A weak low-pressure system passes to our south Friday into Saturday, and we avoid precipitation to start the weekend as highs will be in the low 40s Saturday.
Highs Sunday into Monday rise from the 40s to near 50 as a warm front lifts through the northeast. We have a wintry mix changing to rain in the forecast for northern New England, and an all rain event across the south.
Monday afternoon, the precipitation tapers off and we become windy. Some mountain snow showers are possible Monday afternoon.
Feeling more spring-like through next week as highs remain in the 40s and low 50s. Another pretty quiet week in the 10-day forecast, with the chance of scattered rain returning Thursday into Friday.
