3rd and 4th Teens Arrested in Dorchester Shooting Death

Two more teenagers were arrested Friday and charged in the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood earlier this year.

Police announced Friday that a 17-year-old male from Lynn, Massachusetts, had been arrested nearly two months after Kevin O'Connor was shot to death on Jan. 14 on Kenwood Street. Hours later, another 17-year-old male from Dorchester was also arrested.

Neither suspect's name was released.

Two other teenagers had already been charged with O'Connor's murder. Rishaard Sheppard and Branden Singleton, both 18 and of Dorchester, were arrested in February.

"The officers assigned to this case have worked tirelessly over the past two months to arrest all individuals responsible for the death of this victim," Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said in a statement. "I hope these arrests send a message to those who might think they can get away with these senseless violent acts — my detectives will investigate every lead until they have found justice for the victims of homicide."

"More importantly, it should send the message that my officers are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the communities and neighborhoods of Boston," Evans added.
