4 Hurt After Car Hits Motorcycle

A 70-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman were seriously hurt when the motorcycle was struck in Derry, NH

Four people were injured, including two seriously, when a car struck a motorcycle in Derry, New Hampshire, Monday afternoon.

A 70-year-old unhelmeted man was riding the bike with a 64-year-old female passenger, who was wearing a helmet, when he crossed into oncoming traffic on Route 102 and a car crashed into them.

The man received a head injury and serious orthopedic injuries. He was transported to Manchester.

The woman received serious head injuries, internal injuries and orthopedic injuries. Fire officials say the helmet, which sustained major damage and was knocked off her head when it hit the hood of the car, "directly contributed to saving her life." She was transported to Parkland Medical Center, from where she was airlifted to Boston Medical Center.

The driver and passenger of the car, both female, were transported to Parkland Medical Center. Both teens had minor injuries.

Derry Police are investigating the crash.
