40+ Great Events Happening This Weekend

It’s the weekend before Halloween and there’s no shortage of spooky fun to be had! From Edaville Family Theme Park’s Not So Spooky Halloween to a Jack O’Lantern Journey at Franklin Park Zoo, a Halloween pet parade and costume contest at Faneuil Hall and The Lawn On D’s Pumpkin Palooza, and a whole lot more, there are dozens of great events happening all weekend long. Friday, Oct. 26

Edaville's Not So Spooky Halloween

Looking for something a little less spooky for the family? Check out Edaville Family Theme Park’s first-annual “Not So Spooky Halloween.” Wear your favorite costumes and trick-or-treat at every ride including Thomas Land and Dino Land. Tickets start at $34. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through the end of the month. 5 Pine St., Carver.

Market Test KITCHEN: Demo + Tasting: Beantown Pastrami

Try something new on your lunch hour with the Market Test KITCHEN at the Boston Public Market. Today Beantown Pastrami will be demoing their new warming soups for fall and winter. Noon to 1 p.m., Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St., Boston.

Harpoon Brewery Tours

Guided tours take place daily at Harpoon Brewery, giving visitors an up close and personal view of the brewing process. As part of the tour, visitors 21 and over will enjoy a range of freshly-brewed Harpoon and UFO beers. Tours last approximately one hour. Tickets are $5 and only available the day of the tour and can only be purchased in person. Noon to 6 p.m., Harpoon Brewery, 306 Northern Ave., Boston. 

Pumpkin Painting for Kids with Jennifer Lee

Grab the kiddos and join Jennifer Lee in raising food allergy awareness and trick-or-treating inclusion with a free, teal pumpkin painting event for kids in support of the Teal Pumpkin Project. Find her at the Market Table, 3:30-4:30 p.m., Boston Public Market, 100 Hanover St., Boston.

Jack O’Lantern Journey

Celebrate the season among thousands of hand-carved Jack O’ Lanterns creatively displayed in themed scenes throughout the Franklin Park Zoo at this holiday event you don’t want to miss. While you’re there enjoy pumpkin carving demonstrations and more interactive experiences. 5:45-9:45 p.m. Franklin Park Zoo, 1 Franklin Park Road, Boston.

Canobie Lake Park’s SCREEMFEST

Head up over the border to New Hampshire this month and check out Canobie Lake Park’s annual SCREEMFEST for Halloween themed live shows, games and rides. Tickets start at $35. 6-11 p.m., Canobie Lake Park, 85 N Policy St., Salem, NH.

Haunted Woods

Located at the Harnden Tavern in Wilmington, roam the historic building and grounds now knowing what’s lurking and waiting for you around every corner. Friends Productions promises this year there are more gruesome actors and surprises than ever before. 6:30-9:30 p.m., Harnden Tavern, 430 Salem St., Wilmington.

Witch’s Woods

Witch’s Woods boasts seven haunted attractions at its haunted hayride and Halloween screampark. Thursday through Sunday nights in October and Halloween night. Tickets are $38. 6:30-10:30 p.m., 79 Powers Road, Westford.

Frightful Fridays: Spooky Tales in the Gore Mansion

Enjoy an evening of spooky tales and haunted activities inside the centuries-old Gore Mansion in Waltham. Adult tickets are $15. Members and children 12 and under are $10. 7 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Gore Mansion, 52 Gore Place, Waltham.

Spooky World

Spooky World is open for the season. Enjoy thrills, chills, sreams and fun at Nightmare in New England at the Haunted Hayride at New England’s largest haunted attraction. 7-11 p.m., 454 Charles Bancroft Highway, Litchfield, NH. 

Blue Man Group at the Charles Playhouse

Combining music, technology and comedy, Blue Man Group creates a form of entertainment that can’t be defined, but appeals to people of all ages. Described as “innovative,” “energetic” and “wildly entertaining,” the best way to truly understand what Blue Man Group is, is to see the show yourself. Haunted Boston Ghost Tours

This 90-minute walking tour takes you through the historic and haunted streets of Boston by lantern light where you’ll hear all the tales of Boston’s most famous ghosts who are rumored to haunt the city. 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors over 62 and $13 for children under $16.

Jamaica Pond Parkrun

Celebrate Halloween LEGO style at LEGOLAND Discovery Center’s Brick or Treat event featuring a pumpkin patch photo opp, a Halloween build off challenge, and LEGO trick or treating where you can collect pieces at different locations throughout the center, along with a costume contest and more. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., 598 Assembly Row, Somerville.

Trick or Treat Hayrides at Smolak Farms

Join a fairy as she completes a quest to earn her full fairy powers and solve riddles with a mermaid, unicorn, dragon and a more on this fun adventure. Grab your four-legged friend and head to Faneuil Hall for the annual Halloween Pet Parade and Costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, Best Owner and Pet Combo, Most Creative, Spookiest, Best Group and Best Local Representation. Disney Store's Haunted Halloween Party
