A Palmer, Massachusetts, man is facing drug charges after a drug-sniffing dog detected nearly 10 pounds of cocaine worth about $500,000 hidden inside a packaged automotive part.

The discovery led to a search of a home in Palmer where police allege they found $63,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested 37-year-old Raymond DeJesus and charged him with trafficking more than 200 grams of cocaine.

He was held on $250,000 bail and was unavailable for comment.

The investigation was conducted with the Palmer police, Wilbraham police, Eastern Hampden Country Narcotics Task Force, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service and the Department of Homeland Security.
