A 77-year-old woman was struck by a car Thursday morning at a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot, according to police.
Police and fire crews responded to the scene after they received reports of a pedestrian crash at 8:47 a.m. at the Yarmouth, Massachusetts eatery. Upon arrival, officials treated the elderly victim, who was identified as a South Yarmouth resident.
The victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries, according to police. The driver of the vehicle, a 51-year-old South Yarmouth man, remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Officials did not identify the driver nor the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
