9 Arrested, 3 Guns Recovered at Boston Nightclub

Police noticed large gathering of known gang members in front of Bijou early Sunday morning

Nine people, including two teenagers, were arrested early Sunday morning outside a Boston nightclub -- and three guns were recovered.

Police saw a large gathering of known gang members in front of Bijou at 51 Stuart St.

It appeared 19-year-old Randall Mastin and a 16-year-old, both of Dorchester, were monitoring the crowd while attempting to remain unnoticed. Officers saw both of them clutching at their waist bands, and believed them to be carrying firearms.

When officers got close, both of the suspects attempted to run and two violent struggles simultaneously broke out. Both were eventually arrested.

Both face several charges, including unlawful possession of firearms.

A short time after they were taken into custody, police were called into action to monitor the area in attempt to prevent the crowd which had gathered during the arrests of the two suspects from turning violent.

A wild fight broke out in front of Bijou.

Six suspects were placed under arrest. They have been identified as Luis Moran, 25, of Boston; Hassan Taft, 20, of Mattapan; Melvin Jones, 32, of Roxbury; Tyree Draughn, 23 of Roxbury; Lance Gerald, 27, of Malden and Anthony Haskins, 33, of Boston. They are all charged with affray and distrubing the peace.

A short time later, another man, Mario Barros, 26, of Dorchester, was also arrested. He's charged with unlawful possession of a firearm and for being an armed career criminal.
