Adam Sandler is returning to his home state to serve as the special 25th anniversary grand marshal for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway on July 19.
The actor, a native of Manchester, will participate in driver introductions on the Magic Mile frontstretch and attend the NASCAR Cup series drivers meeting before telling drivers to start their engines.
Sandler said that when he was growing up in New Hampshire, he used to watch NASCAR with his dad and brother. He said his dad, who died in 2003, "would be baffled" that he's getting the honor.
