All Clear Given After Lock Down at Hanscom Air Force Base

The all-clear has been given after a brief lockdown at a Massachusetts Air Force base.

A spokesperson for Hanscom Air Force Base, just west of Boston, said that there was a lockdown Thursday morning, but that the all-clear has been given and there is no danger.

Spokesperson Ben Knewl said a shelter-in-place was issued at 9:15 a.m. after a staff member saw and misidentified equipment that was set up for an event.

Security forces were notified and immediately investigated.

After the equipment was identified and determined that it was supposed to be there, the lockdown was lifted a short time later and the all-clear was given.
