Crews Close Highway in Westboro to Clear Utility Wire

All lanes of Interstate 495 were closed in Westboro to clear a low-hanging utility wire from over the highway. (Published Friday, Aug. 9, 2019)

Transportation officials shut a section of I-495 in Westborough, Massachusetts, temporarily on Friday afternoon so crews could remove a low-hanging utility wire.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation said all travel lanes had to close beginning at 3:30 p.m. for a utility company to secure and remove the wire.

The work forced the closure of ramps from Route 9 east and west to I-495 north.

All lanes and ramps were reopened just after 5 p.m.
