Amy Lord Murder Trial Entering 2nd Day of Testimony

Edwin Alemany is accused of going on a crime spree targeting women back in July 2013

The second full day of testimony in the trial of a man accused in a spree of violence against women, including the murder and kidnapping of a Boston woman, will begin Friday.

Edwin Alemany is accused of going on a crime spree targeting women back in July 2013.

Alemany is charged with killing Amy Lord, a native of Wilbraham in western Massachusetts who was working in Boston. Prosecutors say the 30-year-old kidnapped Lord, forced her to drive to several ATMs and withdraw money, then killed her, leaving her body in a park.

In court Thursday, the prosecutor said Alemany also separately attacked two other women, who escaped.

Defense attorney Jeffery Denner delayed his opening until later in the trial. He has said Alemany has a history of mental illness and made it clear he does not deny his client attacked Alexandra Cruz, who says she, too, was attacked by Alemany.

The attack on Cruz happened just hours before Lord was taken from her South Boston apartment. The prosecutor says Alemany attacked three women that day, but only killed Lord.
