Another Summer-Like Feel for Our Weekend

The showers of late Thursday dropped more rain in southern New England than any other front in two weeks, but it still was not enough. Our yards are getting pretty dry.

Friday is another bright, dry day with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. High-pressure is moving over with light winds and temperatures in the 60s north and 70s south.

It’s going to be clear and seasonably cold Friday night. Low temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s, and a few 30s in the colder spots north.

High pressure moves to our east, allowing for a wind from the south to push the temperature back up to 80 degrees on Saturday. Another front is moving in from the west, a lot like what happened Thursday.

Clouds will be increasing and a shower or thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon or evening. But most of the day is dry, with the feel of late summer.

New high pressure brings in somewhat cooler air again on Sunday, with plenty of sunshine, mixed with fair weather clouds. High temperatures will be in the 60s and low 70s, a lot like Friday.

Monday features sunshine giving way to clouds and a high in the 60s. A warm front goes by with a few showers Monday night and Tuesday, then we are on the warm side again Tuesday and Wednesday.

We may even perhaps get to the 80s in parts of New England before the next front brings showers and thunderstorms later Wednesday and Thursday. These will be followed by the coolest weather since last spring.

In the tropics, Hurricane Lorenzo is a major category 4, way out in the middle of the ocean. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Karen is very weak and stalling out well east of the Bahamas.

In Montana, a snowstorm is developing Friday night, with possible blizzard conditions this weekend.

Here in New England, we are pretty much just right in our First Alert 10-Day Forecast.
