Arrest Made In Armed Robbery

Police have made an arrest in an armed robbery Saturday at a convenience store in Jamaica Plain.

Police say they got a call about a man coming into the JP Convenience Store where a suspect came in, pointed a firearm at the clerk, and demanded money. The suspect then left the scene on foot.

After an investigation police say they found the suspect, Saquan Hines of Norwood, in the area of Creighton Street.

When Hines was frisked, officers say they found no gun but a number of crumpled up bills in his pocket of various denominations.

Boston Police Department K-9 "Rocky" was brought into the investigation to try and help find the gun, which police say was clearly seen in store security video. After Rocky tracked the suspects path, a .45 caliber Ruger P345 was found underneath a trash barrel on Edge Street Hill.

Hines will appear in Roxbury District Court and faces multiple charges including armed robbery and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.
