Authorities Continue Homicide Investigation of Former Groveland Employee

Eighty-two-year-old Patsy Schena was found with multiple wounds at his home late Friday night, according to authorities

Days after a former Groveland, Massachusetts, employee was found dead in his home, there are still no arrests.

Eighty-two-year-old Patsy Schena was found unresponsive and with multiple wounds at his home on Governors Road just before midnight Friday.

Authorities said Schena worked with the town since 1979 and retired four years ago.

"Mr. Schena was the town building inspector for many years. He was well-known and respected in the community," Groveland Police Chief Jeff Gillen said.

Gillen noted that this is the first murder in Groveland since 1992.

Lance Blais, one of Schena's best friends for 40 years, says the brutal murder doesn't add up. He said he was supposed to meet up with Schena on Friday, but he never showed up.

"Four o'clock came and went by and I know Pat. He's very dependable. If he says he's gonna be there, he's usually there," said Blais.

Blais said he's cooperating with police to try and get justice for his friend.

"I never, not once, ever, seen him have a tiff with anybody," said Blais. "I hope my life away that they find out who did this. It's just wrong."

The Essex County District Attorney's office says the investigation is active and ongoing.
