Report: Bernie Sanders' Son Considers Congressional Run in New Hampshire

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' son is considering a political career himself.

Vice News reports Levi Sanders is actively considering a run for Congress in New Hampshire's highly competitive 1st District in 2018.

"Oh absolutely, I’m definitely considering it. I’m excited, motivated, and interested in the race," Sanders told Vice News on Thursday. "I’m just dotting my i’s and crossing my t’s."

Sanders worked as a senior policy strategist on his father's 2016 presidential campaign. He is currently an analyst for Cambridge and Somerville Legal Services.

An advocate for social security benefits, Sanders told Vice News that like his father, he would proposed Medicare for all and free college tuition as part of his platform.

Seven Democrats are already running and raising money in New Hampshire’s 1st District to succeed Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, who’s retiring.
