Beware of Thunderstorms, Scattered Showers

We are waking up to clouds Monday morning with even a couple of showers and thunderstorms. There will be some clearing by lunchtime.

Temperatures will climb quickly into the 70s and 80s. Humidity levels will be as high as they are on a sultry day in the summer. At this point, the activity doesn’t look widespread, but the thunderstorms could become violent with damaging winds, hail and an isolated tornado.

The greatest threat is throughout interior New England. Current thinking is that the timing of those thunderstorms will be in the afternoon.

Tuesday and Wednesday are comfortable to quiet. High temperatures both days will reach the upper 60s and low 70s. It will be quite breezy with wind gusts to 30 mph both days.

Showers will return by the end of the week. Temperatures will hold in the low-to-mid 70s.

The Memorial Day weekend looks a bit unsettled, but it’s way too early to reschedule or cancel any outdoor plans. Sunday looks like the pick of the weekend. There is an outside chance of a showers and temperatures will reach the low 70s.

Our highest rain chance will be on Saturday. Even if we see rain over the weekend, there will be plenty of dry time mixed in between rain drops.
