Bill Allowing Baby Pictures on Beer Bottles Goes Through

New Hampshire restaurants and stores will soon be allowed to sell beer bottles that include photos of minors on the label

New Hampshire restaurants and stores will soon be allowed to sell beer bottles that include pictures of minors on the label, as long as the images don't encourage underage drinking.

Senators joined the House on Wednesday in overriding Gov. Maggie Hassan's veto of legislation to change the rules around alcohol advertisements. Republican Rep. Keith Murphy, the owner of a popular Manchester bar, brought forward the legislation because he wants to sell Breakfast Stout, crafted by a Michigan-based brewery, which features a picture of a baby on the label. He cannot buy it under existing New Hampshire law.

Hassan has said changing the law would undermine New Hampshire's efforts to combat underage drinking; lawmakers disagreed.

The bill is set to take effect 60 days after passage.
