You knew Bill Belichick was going to be asked. You also knew he wouldn't give much of an answer.
The New England Patriots head coach was his typical taciturn self Wednesday at his introductory press conference.
Belichick first was asked about the contract situation of Tom Brady, who still hasn't received an extension entering the final year of his deal.

"I'm not going to talk about player contracts, or any other contracts, for that matter," Belichick said.
NFL Media's Mike Giardi noted the second part of Belichick's quote could be a reference to Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio and director of college scouting Monti Ossenfort, who reportedly are entering the final years of their contracts, as well.

Another hot-button issue entering 2019 is the status of wide receiver Josh Gordon, who remains on indefinite suspension following another violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy in December.
Belichick didn't have much to say on that matter, either.
"That'll be a league matter," Belichick said. "You should talk to them."
The league hasn't offered any recent update on Gordon, and it appears few actually know where he stands: NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reported last week the Patriots aren't counting on the former All-Pro but would welcome him back if he manages to get reinstated.
The Patriots officially begin training camp Thursday outside Gillette Stadium, where we should get plenty more non-answers from Belichick in the coming weeks.
