Blues Forward to Miss Game 2 After Krug Hit

St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas got lit up by Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug in the signature play of Game 1 of the 2019 Stanley Cup Final, and he won't play in Game 2.

Blues head coach Craig Berube confirmed after Wednesday's morning skate that Thomas is out of the lineup. Berube said Thomas' absence has nothing to do with Krug's hit from Boston's 4-2 win in Game 1. The Blues coach confirmed defenseman Vince Dunn also will miss Game 2.

Robby Fabbri could play in Thomas' spot at right wing alongside Pat Maroon and Tyler Bozak on the third line.

Berube did not confirm Fabbri will enter the lineup, but he noted the 23-year-old forward competes hard and can score goals. Fabbri has scored one goal in eight games during the 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs. His last playoff appearance was Game 5 of the Blues' second-round series versus the Dallas Stars.
