Boston Announces Parking Restrictions During Menino Services

The City of Boston will enact parking restrictions Sunday and Monday to accommodate the mass and funeral service for former Mayor Tom Menino.

As Boston mourns the loss of former Mayor Tom Menino, the city is enacting parking restrictions to accommodate services in his honor.

The mayor will lie in state at Faneuil Hall beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday. The public is welcome to pay its respects.

From 12:01 a.m. Sunday to noon Monday, parking will be prohibited on the following streets:

  • Both sides of North Street from Congress Street to Clinton Street
  • Both sides of Union Street from North Street to Hanover Street
  • Congress Street, on the side of Faneuil Hall, from State Street to New Sudbury Street
  • Both sides of Hanover Street from Surface Road to Congress Street
  • The south side of Chatham Street from Merchants Row to Commercial Street
  • Both sides of Merchants Row from State Street to Chatham Row
  • The north side of State Street from Chatham Street to Congress Street
  • Both sides of Clinton Street from Surface Road to North Street
  • Both sides of Chatham Row from Chatham Street to State Street


Monday, Menino's funeral, closed to the public, will begin at noon at the Most Precious Blood Parish in Hyde Park, where the mayor lived.

Parking will be prohibited on the following streets from noon to 3 p.m. Monday:

  • Both sides of Maple Street from River Street to Oak Street
  • Both sides of Oak Street from Hyde Park Avenue to Oak Street
  • Both sides of Pine Street from Hyde Park Avenue to Maple Street
  • Both sides of Hyde Park Avenue from River Street to Factory Street
