Snowflakes were spotted in Boston on Thursday, but residents now have another reason to get hyped for spring.

"The Patios," a collaboration between City Hall, Berkshire Bank and Boston sculptor and filmmaker Jeff Smith, will debut at City Hall Plaza on May 4.

Located on the southeast corner of City Hall Plaza, the installment will have nine custom patio areas, a main pavilion, and a "brew yard" with Wachusett Brewery, which will offer pints of its own beer and several guest brewery tap takeovers starting at 4 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. on weekends.

Honeycomb Creamery will offer ice cream, and there will be mini golf stations too.

"We’re excited to welcome the next round of family-friendly and fun activations to City Hall Plaza as the weather continues to get warmer here in Boston," Mayor Marty Walsh said.

Organizers are also planning weekly "pop-up" collaborations, with visits from puppies from Dedham-based dog rescue Schultz's Guest House, the Boston Public Library's Bibliocycle and Boston Public Market picnic promotions.

"Like the rest of Boston, we are ready for spring – and what better way to celebrate than with outdoor patios, pints and puppies," said Amy Latimer, president of Boston Garden Development Corp., which was tapped to oversee City Hall Plaza events.
