Boston Mayor May Sue Drug Makers Over Opioid Crisis

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh could take pharmaceutical companies to court for their alleged role in the opioid crisis.

The Mayor's office said Monday drug companies knowingly put customers at risk by flooding the market with powerful opiates.

Walsh is calling out to research firms in February for data that might support his case against pharmaceuticals.

"We've put out a request for info so we can get information on what a lawsuit would look like and what the mitigation would be for people, not necessarily loss of life, but loss of resources here in the city of Boston."

Boston's mayor has called drug makers reckless and says they have damaged entire cities with their drugs.
