Boston Rallies for Baltimore

A group of about 100 protesters in Boston marched Saturday morning from Mattapan to Roxbury.

They said they planned this in solidarity with the protesters in Baltimore, but it was also a sounding board for the concerns of the community here.

Much of their frustration is still directed at law enforcement.

"I want to try and make sure as clergy and as people of the community that they shouldn't be thinking that way, because all police are not like that," said Rev. Vernard Coulter of the New Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Boston Police followed the crowd on their march, but kept their distance.

"Everyone has different levels of experience with law enforcement, and we are here to say we will listen to you. We will protect your First Amendment rights, but let's use again your voices of logic and reasoning instead of the ignorance of destruction," said Boston Police Superintendent in Chief William Gross.

"It's peaceful. It's about love, but it's not about being complacent," said Rev. Jeffrey Brown of the 12th Baptist Church of Boston. "It's about being activists. It's about fighting for what we know is right."
