There is a new hotel in Boston, and it is unlike anything the city has ever seen. Yotel, Boston's first micro-hotel, opened its doors Thursday.
Yotel is in in the heart of the Seaport, between the luxury high rises, a buzzing neighborhood and Boston’s tech scene known as the innovation district.
It is not your ordinary hotel. They don't have a lobby. Visitors enter "Mission Control."
General Manager Chris Hartzell said check-ins are easy with self-service kiosks or through the Yotel app. For the less-than-tech-savvy, he says mission control agents are available to help 24 hours a day.
Yotel has 326 "cabins." A typical cabin is 152 square feet. It has every amenity you would need, including an adjustable smart bed.
Even though the rooms are "micro," the bathrooms are full-sized, boasting monsoon spa showers.
The crown jewel is the roof -- the "Sky Lounge." Guests from around the world will be able to take in the Boston skyline while enjoying the restaurant and bar.

The Sky Lounge is indoor and outdoor, and is always available.
The terrace is available to anyone, not just guests.
"It's a great place to stop after work," Hertzell said. "Have a cocktail. Come up at night. We'll have DJs' music and some signature cocktails that I think you're really going to like."
Room prices start at $179 a night.
