Breaks of Sunshine Ahead of Rain

There is the possibility of some black ice early this morning as temperatures start off around freezing.

There will be a few breaks of sunshine this morning, but clouds will quickly fill in. Light rain will also develop but it won’t be a pleasant afternoon. Expect a cold rain for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will fall from the mid-40s down into the 30s by dinner.

Wednesday will be warm once the front lifts north. Gusty southerly winds will develop during the day. Winds will gust to 40 mph throughout the day.

A cold front will approach from the west during the afternoon and evening. Don’t be shocked if you hear a rumble of thunder. Thunderstorms are also possible with the cold front.

Thursday is Opening Day at Fenway Park and we will be caught in between two weather systems. The sun will be shining, but it will be cold and breezy. High temperatures will only reach the mid-40s. Winds will gust to 30 or 40 mph, which will be enough to produce wind chills in the 30s for much of the game.

We will close out the week and start the weekend with even more unsettled weather. It’s still too early to tell what kind or how much precipitation we will see. There is plenty of cold air draining down from Canada. The weather looks to be the most active Friday afternoon and night and again Saturday evening into Sunday.
