Husband of Former Senate President Asks for Sex Assault Charges to Be Dropped: Report

The estranged husband of a former Massachusetts Senate President Stan Rosenberg is asking for all accounts of sexual assault against him to be dropped, the Boston Globe reports.

His attorney, Tracy A. Miner, argued that his alleged crimes, which prosecutors say included repeated groping, showing of nude photos, forcible kissing and other forms of sexual assault and misconduct towards men working at the Statehouse, should not be considered felonies despite the "disgusting" nature of them.

Bryon Hefner, 31, has previously pleaded not guilty to the 10 counts against him.

A hearing was held Wednesday in front of Judge Robert N. Tochka in which no ruling was issued.

In a separate case, Hefner is accused of making prank phone calls to a treatment center at which he was patient.
