A co-owner of a butcher shop in New Hampshire has pleaded guilty to not giving more than $13,000 from a fundraiser to a charity.
The Meat House held a charitable event in 2013 for the benefit of the Chaplain Emergency Relief Fund. The money was benefiting veterans.
Attorney General Joseph Foster said Jason Parent, a co-owner of the business, failed to pay more the funds that ended up going into the company's operating account. He pleaded guilty Thursday in Rockingham County Superior Court to misapplication of property and to theft on behalf of the business.
Parent was sentenced to a year in jail, with all but one month suspended. He was ordered to return the money.
Earlier this year, co-owner Justin Rosberg received the same sentence.
