Cape Cod Man Dies From Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

A man died from carbon monoxide poisoning Wednesday night on Cape Cod.

Bourne, Massachusetts, police say they responded to a business on Bluff Road after a woman reported she found her husband passed out on the floor.

One of the first officers to enter the business was overcome by the carbon monoxide, and had to be hospitalized.

Police found 62-year-old Donald Shulman next to a gas-powered power washer, which they believe he was trying to fix. Shulman was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

A police officer was also treated and released for carbon monoxide poisoning.

Investigators believe the death was accidental, but an autopsy has been scheduled.
