Celtics Vs. Bucks Schedule: Here's When Second Round Series Could Start

The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks won't stop twiddling their thumbs anytime soon.

The Celtics' second-round NBA playoff date with the Bucks is already is set after both teams swept their first-round series. Every other first-round series is still going, though, and the NBA has confirmed Boston-Milwaukee won't start until either Saturday or Sunday.

So, which day will it be? Right now, every active first-round series sits at 3-1 with the exception of San Antonio Spurs-Denver Nuggets, which is tied at 2-2. In theory, those series all could be wrapped up by Thursday if either the Spurs or Nuggets win both Game 5 (on Tuesday) and Game 6 (on Wednesday).

If there's a Game 7 in that Spurs-Nuggets series, it would be Saturday, as would Game 7s for Raptors-Magic, Blazers-Thunder and 76ers-Nets. (Toronto, Portland, and Philadelphia all lead those series 3-1.) If either the Los Angeles Clippers or the Utah Jazz make it to Game 7 in their respective series against the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets, those would be Sunday.

Essentially, if any first-round series goes seven games, Game 1 of Celtics-Bucks will be on Sunday. If they all finish in six games or fewer, it gets pushed up to Saturday.

Either way, the C's -- who haven't played since Sunday -- won't know their schedule until Thursday at the earliest, which creates a strange scenario for head coach Brad Stevens.

"I don't really have an exact plan because we haven't been told when we are playing, which is pretty unique, I think," Stevens said Tuesday at Celtics practice, via NBC Sports Boston's Chris Forsberg. "But we're awaiting word on that."

Aren't we all, Brad.
