    Young Child Hit by Police Cruiser in Roxbury

    A 1-year-old girl was struck by a police cruiser in Roxbury on Monday.

    A child was struck by a Boston police cruiser in Roxbury around 7 p.m. Monday.

    The accident happened in the 600 block of Shawmut Avenue. The victim, a 1-year-old girl, suffered a broken collarbone and was taken to a local hospital, according to her mother.

    The girl's mother said she was standing by the car near her daughter when she was hit. It appeared that she was unconcious, according to a witness, but she started crying as she was placed in an ambulance.

    It appears that the crash was caught on surveillance video.
