Cloudy, Mild Day Leads to Evening Sprinkles

Clouds are filling the New England sky today as mild air makes its first steps in a return to the region.

Coming off a frosty start, temperatures today will have trouble surpassing the middle 50s thanks to all the clouds... but no rain is expected until some evening sprinkles.

Overnight showers will be few and far between, but mark the continued influx of milder air, and while a 30-40 percent chance of showers linger Thursday, temperatures will rise into the 60s with some breaks of sun possible during the afternoon.

Friday is likely to push temperatures to 70 degrees for some of us with showers likely to pop up mostly in Central and Northern New England ahead of an approaching cold front that will deliver cool and dry air Saturday – the pick of the weekend days.

In a fast-moving, see-saw pattern of weather, warmth tries to return Sunday, meaning showers are likely again and will probably last into early next week before a more meaningful shot of fall chill, perhaps the coldest of the season so far, arrives by next Thursday in the exclusive Early Warning Weather 10-day forecast.
