Kyle Suprenard, 25, of Everett, had recently been released from Baystate Medical Center.

Police in Greenfield, Massachusetts, have arrested a man accused of stealing an ambulance after getting released from a hospital.

Kyle Suprenard, 25, of Everett, had recently been released from Baystate Medical Center.

Police say he was seen walking around the parked ambulances. When medics checked on Suprenard he was in the driver’s seat of one of the vehicles and drove out onto a street.

Soon after police were notified Suprenard returned to the parking lot with the ambulance. Officials say he was acting in a “disorderly” manner.

During a search, police found a small baggie in Suprenard’s wallet identified as “ketamine,” which led to an additional charge for possession of a Class “A” substance.

Bail was set at $500. Suprenard is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday morning.

There was no damage to the ambulance and no one was injured in the incident.
