Cops: Man Sold Fireworks Illegally at Flea Market

Authorities say 74-year-old Timothy Donovan of Danvers, Massachusetts, was arrested Sunday

New Hampshire fire officials say a Massachusetts man faces charges after selling fireworks at the Hollis Flea Market.

Authorities say 74-year-old Timothy Donovan of Danvers, Massachusetts, was arrested Sunday and charged with selling fireworks without a license and sale of smoke bombs.

Officials say they received multiple complaints about someone selling fireworks at the flea market, which operates on Sundays.

Donovan was released on a personal recognizance bond and is due in Nashua District Court July 8.

Reached at his home Sunday, Donovan said he thought the sales were allowed and didn't know he was breaking the law.

Fire marshal William Degnan says the sale of fireworks is only allowed at licensed retail locations.
