Organizers: New Plan for Boston 2024 Bid Coming Monday

The Boston City Council received no hints during a special Friday hearing

Organizers of Boston's bid for the Olympics say they hope to release their new plan for the 2024 Summer Games on Monday.

Boston 2024 CEO Richard Davey said the much-anticipated release of the "version 2.0" of the proposal they released in January will come ahead of a June 30 deadline.

But Davey declined to offer any hints to the Boson City Council during a special Friday hearing on the organization's financing plan for the games.

Council members expressed frustration, though some voiced support for other updates revealed in recent weeks, such as proposed new venues for some Olympics events.

Other councilors sternly reminded Davey that any commitment of taxpayer dollars would require council approval, while others asked Davey to publicly commit to not seeking taxpayer dollars, a request he declined.
