Man Killed in Early-Morning 3-Alarm Fire in Belmont

A man was killed in a three-alarm fire early Monday morning, according to Massachusetts fire officials.

The fire happened at 608 Trapelo Road in Belmont. Fire officials say the man's body was found on the third floor.

He has since been identified as 20-year-old Kevin Rossell.

As crews try to determine how and where the three-alarm fire started, investigators are also checking on how many units are in the building.

Josh Wozniak said his roommate is the one who woke him around 4 a.m. when he smelled smoke. His roommate then ran next door to try to wake the people inside the burning building in an effort to make sure everyone got out safely.

"Unfortunately they did end up finding someone in there," Wozniak said. "It's really unfortunate. My heart goes out to this man and his family."
