Officials respond to reports of a level 2 hazmat in Boston's Longwood Medical Area on Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019.

Authorities responded to a level 2 hazmat at a building in Boston's Longwood medical area on Thursday.

Officials responded to the hazmat at 8:46 a.m. after a report of hydrochloric acid spilled on the fourth floor of Brigham & Women's building at 221 Longwood Ave., officials said.

The building was evacuated as officials neutralized the chemical. A cleanup crew responded to the spill as well. The building has been deemed safe, according to the Boston Fire Department.

No injuries were reported and no one was exposed to the spill.
