Crews Respond to Level 2 Hazmat in Boston Medical Building

Authorities responded to a level 2 hazmat at a building in Boston's Longwood medical area on Thursday.

Officials responded to the hazmat at 8:46 a.m. after a report of hydrochloric acid spilled on the fourth floor of Brigham & Women's building at 221 Longwood Ave., officials said.

The building was evacuated as officials neutralized the chemical. A cleanup crew responded to the spill as well. The building has been deemed safe, according to the Boston Fire Department.
