David Andrews Back at Patriots Practice as Spectator After Hospitalization for Blood Clots

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots were back on the Gillette Stadium practice field Tuesday as they prepare for Thursday night's preseason finale against the New York Giants, and they had a special spectator watching them.

Patriots center David Andrews, whose 2019 season is now in jeopardy after he reportedly was hospitalized this week with blood clots in his lungs, was in attendance Tuesday.

Here's a look at Andrews on the field:

The Patriots did have a positive development on the injury front as Damien Harris returned to practice. The rookie running back left last Thursday's preseason game against the Carolina Panthers with an injury in the second quarter and didn't return.

Harris has played well in his limited preseason action, particularly in the Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans where he tallied 103 total yards.

The Patriots also had a pair of defensive players among the absentees from practice.

Tuesday's practice is one of the last sessions before all NFL teams are required to trim their rosters down to 53 players by Saturday's 4 p.m. ET deadline.
