Train Tracks Reopened After Fatal Crash in Providence

Train tracks have been reopened after a reported fatal car crash in Rhode Island early Monday morning.

Police in Providence tell WJAR that a man was killed in the crash, which happened near Dike Street just before 4:30 a.m.

An overturned car on the tracks interrupted service between Kingston and Providence west of Route 128 Station in Massachusetts.

The train tracks west of Route 128 are in the process of opening back up as of 7:30 a.m., according to Amtrak officials.

Commuters are being warned of residual delays.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
