    Weather Forecast: Morning Fog

Tuesday night: Cloudy, a few showers in southeastern Massachusetts, patchy fog. Lows in the 50s. Wednesday: Areas of morning fog, otherwise clouds, limited sun, chance of thunder later north/west. Highs in the 70s, 60s coast.

    (Published Tuesday, June 18, 2019)

Pockets of heavy rain remain across southern New England, with some downpours likely for the south coast, Cape Cod and the islands. The rain lets up in coverage and in intensity overnight from west to east. We remain muggy and warm tonight so watch for areas of fog to develop.

Wednesday won't be a washout for us, but clouds will stay stubborn across the coastline with the onshore flow. Highs will be in the mid-70s, with breaks in the cloud cover in the afternoon across the interior.

Where we do see some sunshine, a shower or storm may pop up. Anything that does pop will be brief, but watch for quick downpours, lightning and gusty wind.

Another disturbance will bring a wave of rain in Thursday. Then a larger system moves in Thursday night through Friday, bringing all of New England scattered rain and a couple storms.

The low-pressure system will move out just in time for the first official weekend of summer. Highs will be in the 70s to 80s, with full sunshine as high pressure settles in.

More summer heat is in the forecast for next week, with highs in the low 80s. The jet stream becomes more amplified for next week, meaning breaks between rain chances.

A dome of high pressure looks to build across the northeast from Friday night through the following Tuesday morning. Stay tuned for forecast updates as we dig deeper into summer!
