A Boston man was arraigned on charges stemming from a fatal hit-and-run involving a teenager riding his bike in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.
Twenty-seven-year-old Gregory McCoy of Boston was held on $250,000 for a slew of charges, including motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a collision causing death.
Prosecutors say McCoy fled the scene of the accident at the corner of Talbot and New England streets Tuesday night after two cars crashed, slamming into 18-year-old Fritz Philogene, who was standing by with his bike.
McCoy, who was allegedly behind the wheel, is accused of driving off after the crash as his passenger suffered severe leg injuries. Police say neighbor tried to resuscitate the victim, but was unsuccessful.
The driver of the vehicle that stayed was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
McCoy was arrested later Wednesday morning on an unrelated charge. Authorities say bystanders helped identify him.
McCoy's next court date is June 19. He's being represented by Jeff Garland.
