New surveillance photos have been released as detectives continue to investigate a deadly stabbing in East Boston last month.

Boston police are asking for the community's help in identifying a man sought in connection with the ongoing investigation, investigators announced Monday.

The victim, identified by his family as Alfred Rodriguez Nunez, was found by officers outside of Medallo Bar on Chelsea Street suffering from a life-threatening stab wound after some kind of altercation just before 2 a.m. on Feb. 17. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died three days later.

One of the photos released Monday showed that the person of interest appeared to be a man with dark hair who was wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans and tan shoes.

Family members told NBC10 Boston that Rodriguez Nunez, who lived in Revere, owned a barbershop with his brother on Shirley Avenue. He was the father of two children.

His stepsister Mari Fermin called him a responsible man who helped his family.

"It's a tragedy," Fermin said last month. "It's something that we don't understand. Life is short, and we didn't see this coming."

"He's always been a positive influence in our community," family friend Jazmin Lora said. "He's never been anyone who's looked for trouble."

    The stabbing remains under investigation.
