One person was killed after being hit by a car early Wednesday in East Boston.
The crash happened just before 2 a.m. near McClelland Highway. As a result, the highway at Curtis Street was temporarily shut down while officials assess the scene.
The scene was cleared around 6 a.m., Boston police said.
It is unclear if the driver stayed at the scene.
A medical examiner was at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim's name.
Details on what led up to the crash were not immediately clear.
