A pizza spot in Allston that focused on the use of organic ingredients has shut down.

According to a poster on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook group page, Ecco Pizzeria on Commonwealth Avenue is no longer in business, with a check on the restaurant's website confirming this, saying that it has been purchased and thanking patrons for their business. It is not yet known what will be going into the Ecco space, so keep checking back for updates.

Ecco Pizzeria, which first opened in late 2011, offered a variety of pizzas along with soups, salads, pasta, sandwiches, desserts, and more. The eatery considered itself an environmentally-friendly spot that focused on using all-natural ingredients, being energy-efficient, and recycling.

The address for this now-closed pizza spot in Allston was: Ecco Pizzeria, 1147 Commonwealth Avenue, Allston, MA, 02134.
