Bodies of Son, Step-Father Recovered From Merrimack River

Crews in Boscawen, New Hampshire, have recovered the bodies of a young boy and his step-father from the Merrimack River.

Crews in Boscawen, New Hampshire, have recovered the bodies of a young boy and his step-father from the Merrimack River.

The town's fire chief says the mother reported 10-year-old Javier Gonzalez and 31-year-old Jibril Mohamed from Concord missing around 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

According to officials, Gonzalez was swimming while the parents were on shore. HE went under and Mohamed went in the water to rescue the boy and also began to struggle.

The search concluded at 8:30 Wednesday night and continued Thursday morning at 7. Gonzalez's body was found around 8 a.m. Thursday. Mohamed's body was found around 

Eight divers total searched the area Thursday, with groups of two going in at a time.
